Let your eyes feast on an endless sight of red, yellow and multi colored flowers in the valley. Well, this is what the valley of flowers is all about. Being thee most important attraction of Uttaranchal., this valley became world famous and was given the status of a reserve in the year 1982.
At an altitude of 3,250 mt above the sea level and sprawling on an area of 87.5 Sq. Km , this valley is well connected to history as well. Boasting the largest concentration of various species of wild flowers, this is indeed the land of milk and honey.

This valley has been given the status of World Heritage by UNESCO. Set against the sliver birches and snow clad peaks, with clear running streams, the valley is full of flowers. You should not forget to visit the smallest park in Himalayas, that was primarily created to protect the catchment area of the Pushpavati river.
The fauna in the national park comprises the musk deer, red fox ,snow leopard, , common langur, bharal, serow, Himalayan black bear. The flora includes orchids, poppies, primulas, calendulas, daisies and anemones, that carpets the ground.
The best time to visit the Valley of Flowers is during the months of July and August, when the flowers bloom to the maximum.
