Artist: Ozzy Osbourne |
Album: Black
Rain

On
his ninth studio effort Ozzy proves that he has still got
the metal which gave him the iconic status in the world
of rock n' roll. The songs have the classic Ozzy touch which
will atract hardcore fans and also cater to new listeners.
This album is everything that Ozzy is, with the theme of
songs alternating between the topics of war, politics and
death. Ozzy doesn't disappoint even for a single bit with
his songwriting skills and singing. Zakk Wylde adds his
signature riffs to the songs and Rob Zombie's old Bassist
Rob "Blasko" Nicholson provides the low end thunder.
The title track Black Rain seems to be a re-vamped shadow
of Sabbth-ic "War Pigs”, a complexly structured
seven minute megalith "The Almighty Dollar". The
songs on Black Rain go from lashing out at the government
to fighting the personal demons, with Ozzy's signature power
ballads like "Here For You" and Lay Your World
on me". An essential listen for any Ozzy fan.
