Enrique Miguel Iglesias was born in the scorching heat of
Madrid on the 8th of May 1975. Son of the multi millionaire
and internationally acclaimed Latino artiste Julio Iglesias
his childhood already had him living in his father’s
shadow when he moved to Miami with his father.
Enrique’s stint with music started
when he was just in school and worked in a production Hello,
Dolly. After this first performance his love and talent
for music were given a gateway and he started practicing
music on his own without the knowledge of his parents.
After a year in college he dropped out to
pursue his passion of music and in 1995 came out with his
demo but under a pseudonym, Enrique Iglesias. It was only
later on that he approached his parents and told them about
his musical exploits.
In just three years, Iglesias had sold more
than 17 million Spanish-language albums, more than anyone
else during that period with U.S. being his biggest market.
His first English album, ‘Enrique’ was launched
with Interscope and it went platinum in 32 countries. Hs
claim to fame came with the album ‘Escape’ that
launched his status to that of an international star.
With two Grammies and various music awards
under his belt Enrique has created a niche for himself in
the volatile music industry.
Now, back once again with his latest album,
Insomniac, Enrique is all set to steal the sleep of millions
around the world.
