The Mechanic
Foster acts as the perfect counterfoil to Statham's cold, calculated killer. Where Statham's Bishop lives by a code, Foster's Steve has no such hangups. The action scenes are numbingly effective, right from the big bangs to the hand-to-hand combats.
After a while, you question the need for repetitive scenes. There's way too much in terms of gratitious violence. And then there's the predictable ending. Also, one would like to have seen Donald Sutherland on screen a little longer. |

From Prada To Nada
Based on Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, the film is a modern day adaptation on the tale of two sisters who suffer a riches-to-rags ordeal. Nora (Belle) and Mary (Vega) are thunderstruck to realise their father died leaving no money in their name.
What to do: A weak attempt, From Prada To Nada has neither the zest nor substance to keep you engaged. Watch Confessions of a Shopaholic or Alicia Silverstone's brilliant Clueless instead.

No Strings Attached
In this comedy, Emma and Adam are life-long friends who almost ruin everything by having sex one morning. In order to protect their friendship, they make a pact to keep their relationship strictly "no strings attached." "No strings" means no jealousy, no expectations, no fighting, no flowers, no baby voices. It means they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever public place they want, as long as they don't fall in love. The question becomes- who's going to fall first? And can their friendship survive? |

The Green Hornet
The Green Hornet is a decent movie that follows a pattern so closely that it becomes swallowed by it. The take on the deconstruction of the superhero is a fun idea, and the dynamic of Kato and the Green Hornet is interesting—if not all that surprising or original.
