2. Join (or start!) a chapter of Oil Addicts Anonymous
Get together with people in your community to break America's addiction to oil. Sign up at the Freedom from Oil website here.
3. Become an Oil Enforcement Agent
Visit www.oilenforcementagency.com, download the secret training manual, and join the agency's mission to bust the key players that perpetuate oil addiction.
4. Adopt a Dealer
The Adopt-a-Dealer program is an easy way for anyone and everyone to get involved in the movement to break our oil addiction. Forming a coalition between local residents and car dealers is an effective tool in catching the attention of manufacturers.
5. Demonstrate at a Car Show
Nearly every weekend there is an auto show happening somewhere in the U.S and Canada. These shows are attended by thousands of people, and are a great place to educate people about the risks of our primitive cars.
6. Educate Your Community by Hosting a Speaker
Communities around the world suffer the impacts of oil addiction—from protesters in Nigeria being gunned down by forces hired by oil companies to Indigenous peoples in the Arctic seeing their very way of life destroyed by global warming. By sharing these powerful human stories, you can show your friends and neighbors why we must hold the auto industry accountable
7. Write a Letter to the Editor
Letters to the editor are a terrific way of making your opinion heard. Write your local newspaper and explain why you think the auto industry should be doing everything it can to improve the fuel efficiency of American cars.
